KAMPKRAFT MAKER LAB

A creative Friday program where kids ages 5-10 learn to craft and make while exploring, experimenting, and playing outdoors. Each day consists of one main maker project which falls within the theme of the month (see below for monthly themes), bookended by art, crafts, science, and free play in an awesome backyard. Two mentors will be on hand for the majority of the day, and the number of students will not exceed 16, which allows for lots of individual freedom and attention, and collaboration.

FEBRUARY 2016: MAKE YOUR MARK-
From pulp to press, we will make our own paper, learn different printmaking and bookbinding techniques, and go home with a fully handmade book of our own art!

February 5, 12, 19, 26

$280 (4 Fridays)

MARCH 2016: NEEDLE + THREAD-
March’s projects include string art, thread drawing, felting, and embroidery. Students will make custom merit badges, cards, pillows, and stuffed toys, and can carry it all home in their own hand sewn tote bag.

March 4, 11, 18, 25

$280 (4 Fridays)

APRIL 2016: GET OUTSIDE –
The season has changed and it’s time to help our local and migrating wildlife by creating habitats and feeding stations for them. We’ll take inspiration from all that the school’s backyard has to offer and create beautiful and useful things to take home to our own backyards.

April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

$350 (5 Fridays)

MAY 2016:  MOVIEMAKERS-
Claymation, timelapse, and stop-motion are just a few of the techniques we will explore as the students learn about the early history of movies and film, direct, and edit their own masterpiece.

May 6, 13, 20, 27

$280 (4 Fridays)

Fridays 8:30-3:30
